  1. MRZ data read

    Automatic reading of the document's data, to the ICAO standard.

  2. Visual zone data read

    First names, surnames, addresses, the issuing authority and the other information, read as written — special characters included.

  3. Data comparison

    The data on the document checked for consistency and agreement.

  4. Manipulation detection

    Detection of anomalies, alterations and manipulation of the identity document.

  5. Electronic layer read

    The data held in the electronic layer, readable over NFC, signed with the appropriate certificate.

  6. Specimen detection

    Recognition of specimen and demonstration documents.

Frequently asked questions

What about an old, damaged identity document?
The capture screen may first ask for a better shot. If the document is badly damaged, some checks may be impossible to run, and the case is passed to manual review.
Can the system read data written in a non-Latin alphabet?
The machine-readable zone (MRZ) is, by international standard, written in the Latin alphabet, so that part reads the same on every identity document. Non-Latin script in the visual zone depends on the alphabet — tell us which documents you care about, and we will say whether we support them.
